What is the cheapest way to get about 200HP
i got a 2.8L and i want to get around 200HP and i wanted to know what the cheapest way to get it, wether it be modding the 2.8 or dropping a 3.4. if i had that much HP would i have to change all the same stuff like i would if i were doing a v8 swap?
i was planning on dropping a 3.4 in and maby a supercharger/turbo. but i dont know, im just trying to do it as cheap as possible what do u think
PS: im trying to steer away from nos but if i have to i will use it

dropping in a 3.4 is PROBABLY the chapest way to get 200hp.. even the stock 3.4 is 160hp.. u would still have to do some stuff to that to get above 200.. r u talking at the crank or rr?? (dont quote me on this, but im pretty sure the stock hp # are at the crank w/ all the accessories..)

I know yall are gonna get pissed at me, but
Just get an 8.
That is the quickest easist upgrade.
(I have a 6 & 8 so I'm allowed to say that)
I don't drive my six for speed. I drive it to work.
I drive the 8 when I want to beat my friends...

however, you can get me the motor, and I'll put it in my grand prix.
just like our 2.8--->3.4 swap
3100----------->3400

yeah it is FWD. I'd love to put in in the grand prix -- If I had 2k lying around. but if I did have 2k lying around i'd put in a L67. (GTP motor, supercharged 3800).
I wouldn't waste 2k on the motor for the GP or a 3rd gen, I'd rather waste 2K for a fuel injected Big Block 427 for the Impala.
A thirdgen is nice, but a classic piece of big block muscle car era iron is better.

Get aftermarket pullies from www.jetchip.com, they add up to like 40hp so that would get u close for like $300 if thats not to much for u.

More like 4 horse power for 100 with the belt. I have them. They are not too bad. If you want 200HP
Put the;
2030 Cam
1.52 Roller Rockers
Custom Burned Chip
Ported TB and Intake
Headers
Cat
Exhaust
Custom CAI
Larger Injectors
Ignition Set Up
With all that TFM it should give you those numbers, but it will cost you alot of jack$$$$. We are talking flywheel here to. Not rear wheel.
I would just do a 3.4L build up with FWD heads/intake/ignition- it'll run ya about 1500 to do it right and you'll have closer to 230 hp. (that includes a cam swap, good exhaust/intake, and a port and polish job.
sorry- I just try to help out where I can and I figured somone probably has this question. I know the people on the board like to keep the threads current, but to me any information is useful information (pending that its correct).
