3.4L Power Help
3.4L Power Help
Well let me start out with that i was 2 days away from getting my 3.4L
and well...bad luck sets in.
so....no 3.4L....for awhile....
ugh...
well i'm selling the edelbrock camshafts i have and valve springs
i'm thinking about getting the cams for the 3.4
other ones... i don't think the edelbrock ones will cut it
I was wondering if
Crower's
Hi-Draulic Hauler Performance Level 4
it has a lift of 474 / 484
can that work on the engine?
or is it too much lift
also i need to know what roller rockers to get
valve springs to get
and dual roller timing chain
and valve covers
if any other ideas.. please fill me in
oh guys i already got a turbo
and i have someone thats gonna fabricate everything for me
so far so good on the turbo plan
Well i need to know about the Crower cam
would it fit?
cuz i want that one
does anyone have the GM book... if they do find out how much lift the 3.4L cams have stock
also on the turbo thing
its a T25 Turbo... its pretty small
it spools up quicker than most turbo and its pretty universal
i'm only gonna run the boost at 6 psi as a safe precaution to not blow up the engine... unless i can find out what i need to upgrade to run higher boost
i'm gonna get an intercooler of a T-Bird
the guy i got the turbo from is gonna help me on the fabricating front.
The reason i need better cams than stock is that the guy thats gonna port and polish the engine told me to get better cams if i wanna take most power out of the port and polish.
I do plan on making this V6 a fast car so i need help
I was sooooo close to get the 3.4 but....oh well....
i'm gonna have to wait a few months
the only blessing in waiting is i can order parts and continue working on the turbo plan.... prolly by the time i get the 3.4L
i can already have like 200 horses of performance engine parts
and have the turbo set up ready to bolt on
so help guys!

Turbo
The factory 3.4 cam is the best you'll get for the street.
I doubt that the cam was created for turbo applications, tho.
Best thing is to speak to a manufacture directly.
Go to Crane, they're in Daytona, Fla.
The 3.4 engine is just fine, straight from the factory.

well the 3.4L factory cams maybe good for street
but will the cams i listed workout for strip?
what i meant is the cams maybe good enough
but i want better
if there is such a thing.
what about roller rockers?
which ones should i get?
and what companies dual roller timing chain?
and what valve springs?
does anyone know anything that can lower compression ratio?
i might need too do that if i want to ride on higher boost
also that cams i thought about getting have a lift of 474/484
and i know thats not stock
is that an upgrade or would it not fit?
its from crower and supposebly it fits all cid
i'm also planning on getting a shift kit
and transmission cooler and underdrive pulleys for the ac, powersteering, and i think water pump, also if i can buy the crank one too.
need to do some ram air setup.
right now the most important things i need are engine parts
performance.... strip preferably
street strip if possible.
