Anyone buy new GM battery cables?
All the side terminal cables I see at Walmart, Pep Boys, Strauss, etc, have two problems: One, they're too short. Two, the battery terminal end isn't nicely insulated like the GM ones. Ya know how at the battery, all you see of the side terminal cables is the center screw, a red or black rubber rectangle, and the wire coming out the back? Well there's no red/black rubber cover on the wires I see.
And how much did ya pay?

I know what you mean... my formula and my Iroc have both had aftermarket stereo pieces and the owners cut the insulation on the positive wire so they could use a cheap ring terminal. Classic Industries lists them in their catalogs, but I can't remember the prices.
Tom if ya WANNA MAKE THEM
I have
Go to welding store.
Get cables any length.
They even sell ends.
Solder/weld. etc.
Then find some heat shrink for the ends.
I am making a battery cable for my 1967 Camaro rear trunk battery set up.
I got about 20+ feet of "0" cable and ends to weld.
I will also have, short, ground bcable from battery to ground on frame & engine (both sides of "V") to ground on frame.
Give ya any ideas?

Thanks for the idea! I guess I could make my own cables, if worst came to worst. I'd prefer a pre-made GM cable, but I'll have to see how much they want for one! (Watch, they'll want $50!
