A warning to all 2.8 and 3.1 guys
A warning to all 2.8 and 3.1 guys
When I was in CO for spring break I realized I should have tuned the car for the altitude, this is a MUST. We hit a snow storm/ blizzard just outside of denver that shut down I-70 so we had to go through NM and TX to get back, well you have to drive up a moutian to get back and my buddy did not tell me that till I was 5 minutes away from it, for about 2 minutes I had the gas floored I was doing abut 5,000 RPM and loseing speed fast, when I reached the summit I was doing about 35 MPH and when I started going up I was doing 90.
Make sure you guys tune the car for altitude if your going up therem we wanted to go to aspen but I knew the car wouldent make it.

MAF-equipped cars 85-89 shouldn't have this problem either. The only cars that should have a fit in high elevations are carburetor equipped cars.
Living in LA, CA, I sometimes go skiing, close by.
Up a mountain over a mile+ high.
V-6 carb'ed cars, maybe.... I've made it in my 85 Blazer
V-8's, who cares? Torque.
I can't wait to use the Firebird going skiing.
I'm smart, I wait until the snow is plowed off roads.
No chains!
