I had a freind in VA that was a HEMI fanatic. He had a 426 'bird with 6 pack and 3 inch 80 series flows... ground shook when it fired...

 

He had a Hemi w/Trips?
I know I'm reading that correct.
That must have looked so nice.
How well did it perform?
I knew a guy in High School w/a 1966 Cornett Hemi.
This is 1972.
I still have the visual image of the 1970 Dodge AAR Challenger, rumbling up the hill, infront of my Junior High, when it was brand new.
You just never forget your first set/sound of side pipes.
Kinda like remembering your first sighting of "that" girl, in her sweater.
AND knowing, that's a GIRL!:

 

yup tripple 2's... thats ok I will never forget the first time I went to the drag strip and saw "Christine" the door slammer that a guy put togeather because of the S.King film... watching it roll out of the burn out with the NOS purge shooting over the windshield... Ahhh.... Nevermind the 8.XX 1/4 flyby....

 

Ever see Earl Scheb Son' Al Scheib, 1959 Chrysler?
I saw it at a cruise night.
It was "Parked" puking coolant.
It's a Hemi, supercharged w/dual quads.
So it looses water every once in a while.
BUT, for those few seconds,
SO WILL THE DRIVER!!!

Let me offer this.
I saw one of 72 made
1968 HEMI DART
I remember when this car came out in 1968.
I was a motorhead, mt Brother got/I read his Hot Rod.
This is the first one I have ever seen in my life.
And it drove in past me........
Then the 70 Superbird with a Hemi Supercharger lit up.
It was such a wonderful day. 4 hours of Chryslers from the 50's, 60's, 70's
Van Nuys CA Cycle Cops were at the exit gate.
Sign said
"NO Burnouts!" with a STOP sign 30 feet after sign at the exit.
I'm going back tomorrow....

 

Hey Guys.. just to put some FYI.. go to cruisers on sat for the street races, its all mid 16 second ricers and very fast chevys and fords. Race the ricers, show some american muscle.

Gotta love those Chrylser swap meets!
They throw old GM junk away!!!
I could have walked away with 4 barrel intake manifold, cast iron, tho, free!
I realy wanted the Thrush mufflers, PAIR, for $5!!!
I didn't bring my swap meet wagon for that.
I had two arms and that grill was to valuable for further damaging!
Vintage cast iron manifolds are valuable, also.
Especially if you pass the date.
