Wish list of goodies from Tomp

It would go great along with TomP tune up list. I was doing a search for the best aftermarket starter and alternater but did not really find one on starters, so I figure if someone makes a list of mods it would be easier for some newcomers. just a thought.

Ya lost me... are you talking about who makes the best parts for our cars? Or are you talking about modifications? Or what?

If you're asking who makes the best service parts for our cars, AC Delco by far. Remanned parts are 9 times out of 10 just complete garbage. That's why you see a thirdgen thats 10 years old with the original alternator, it dies and the owner puts three different Pep Boys alternators on it in the next 3 months... Just spend the $100 and get a Delco and be done with it.

TomP once made his awesome tune-up list, so I'm assuming dsaint would like to see a TOmP list of cool upgrades and parts he'd either like to have or already DOES have....

If a person buys C R A P thats what they'll get.

It better to splurge on the "Needed" Items, then to skimp. Cause if you end up replacing that alternator 3 times in as many months... you just have problems. One would think after having to replace it after a couple weeks one would learn... then some won't. BUT I can see how some of us "are stuck" with buying the cheaper one because of more important expenses. IE School...

Hell My alt, along with many other original parts are just fine.. 10 years and counting(knock on wood).. I did however replace my alt with a HO one and it does better then the factory one. I was told to "Get the expensive one" 160 AMP $289 was the cheapest.. till I saw one for $189.. I decided to try that cause I had a "feeling" about it.. well 10 months later it's still kickin it.

Your right Azure that is what I meant ( still feeling the effects from angel dust) about using quality aftermarket parts. It could be that my aftermarket dyno catback sounds and feels better than stock or that my stewart water pump is better than stock or my alpine radio but then again I am a dope head .

It's basically what everyone else on here talks about; the exhaust systems, the home-made intakes using K&N's, trans stuff, suspension stuff, ignition stuff... you just gotta do a few searches and you'll come up with tons of messages. Ya never know what kind of stuff you'll find. I found a message about my track times, that included someone bragging about doing a 4.3L Turbo V6 for his f-body! Shockingly enough, it was apparently all made up, because none of us have heard anything about it. I think the guy was even putting a fuel cell in for it! So search those old V6 Forum messages, might make for interesting stuff!
