Oil Leak Help
I exchanged the V-6 i had in my 91 RS with the same engine from a junked RS of the same year. This engine has about 46,000 miles on it and is leaking a little.I am wondering if the seals are leaking due from sitting in the junkyard for months and was wondering if the stuff you can put in the oil to expand the seals to normal from where they were exposed to age and weather would do any good.
Additives probably won't do anything... I ran all kinds of that garbage thru my 83... wasn't any stopping the leaks. That car leaked every fluid at least once.
Make sure the fasteners are tight first... Aside from that start reading up on swapping the gaskets.

Well where are all the leaks at on the motor. Please tell us. We can be more informative that way.
I aggree with drew. Oil additives do not do squat as far stopping oil leaking. They can slow it down. But it just means a L would take a month instead of 25 days. No real gains.
