You can see a set on SLP's website www.slponline.com Part #80067 for chrome and #80065 for painted, with tires. The price tag is $2199, or $1499. Keep in mind that you'll have to buy a set of $300 spacers to get them to fit. For me, the price is pretty steep. I've heard good things about ROH's rims, seen at www.skulte.com, which have the right backspacing built in.

Which Firehawk wheels are you talking about? Are they the ones on the 91/92 Firehawk or the 4th gen Firehawk?

If it's the 91/92 versions, I think Ronal still makes them and if you get the right backspacing, they should bolt on without the spacers.

If you're talking about the 4th gen versions, then Black Bird is correct about SLPs wheels.

The 3rd gen Firehawk Ronal wheels have been out of production for several years...you'd be hard pressed to find a set and if you did you'd pay a premium price for them.

They were 17 x 9.5" wide and had a 5" backspacing, and allowed you to run 275/40/17 rubber all around with no rubbing or interferences. The new chrome Firehawk wheels sold by SLP are killer looking on a 3rd gen, but as was mentioned above you will need adapters and they are pretty pricey.

I have a set of the '91-'92 Firehawk Ronal 17" X 9.5" rims. They are in fair condition with no center caps. I may be interested in selling them, not sure what they are worth.

...are they gouged, cracked or bent...or is it just cosmetic blemishes?

The rims are pretty good cosmetically, but the inside edge of the rim has wear marks where the tie rod made contact. Otherwise no curb rash etc.

I Have a set of 4th gen firehawk wheels on my 87 camaro they are 16x8 I got them from HP Motorsports. They are also the same wheel they used on the Impala SS. Just diffrent size. I didn't have to use any spacers and if I remeber right they only cost me about $200 apiece.but that was about six years ago.(and yes they are ROH wheels)

Jimbo,

I have been debating on using these Ronal's or buying a set of Black ZR1 rims (Grand Sport). I can't afford them yet so I'm gonna hang on to the Ronal's unless I get an offer I can't refuse. Anybody know where I can get center caps for these wheels? Ronal wants way too much.

Thanks

Yes, they still sell the centercaps for $60 a piece. I think $240 for center caps is a little steep. I just talked to a guy today at work that just happened to have five Firehawk centercaps, so I think I'll use the wheels anyway. Anyone selling tires?

'91 Formula, Sorry, I put the wheels on my car. I put 275 40ZR17 Bridgestone Potenza RE 730's up front and Nitto Drags NT 555R's out back. They fit great after a little grinding on my tie rod ends. They do not rub anywhere. They used to have the red powdercoat around the spokes. I had them stripped. They are just cast aluminum around the spokes now with the machined aluminum face. They look awesome. If I decide to get rid of them, I'll let you know. I'll put up pics as soon as I get some.

I have a friend who has #24 (the green 92 Firehawk) and he said that the 92 firehawk rims are next to impossible to come by. I was told that it would be more cost effective to HAVE THEM MADE (!) then to try and buy them from someone.

I bought mine for $350 with bald Bridgestone 255 40ZR17 RE70's. They didn't have centercaps, so I drilled a hole in my '92 Z28 centercaps and bolted them to the wheels. They look suprisingly good. I'd probably trade them for Black Corvette Grand Sport Rims, but it would be a tough call.
