Z06 Wheels, backspacing and spacers
I did a search but couldn't find a definitite answer.
The red SS badged Camaro with the rims on is the stance I would like.
I plan on buying a set of polished Z06 replica wheels from these guys: http://www.wheelreplicas.com/z06.htm
I want a set of 18" wheels all round
9.5" wide all round.
It says the offset is 50mm
I understand I need wheel spacers, but how big and is that safe?
Also, what size tyres should I be running, 275/35/18 front and rear?
The car is an 88 IROC and will be lowered 1" on Hotchkiss springs.

I'm looking for the same thing but with the Black ZO6 rims. Im looking more for the staggered look. 17's on front 18s on back. However im told track regulations don't let you race with spacers on your drive wheels, So id be more inclined to get a LS1 rearend. For the extra 2inch's of width, which should alloy the Big ZO6 rims to clear the back wheel wells without rubbing. Just a suggestion for you for the rear instead of buying spacers. Plus you get better 12" PBR brakes then the little 10.5ers on there now
10.5?
anyhow check out skulte.com to look up what adapter sizes are needed for your application. adapters are safe but they need to be maintained (checked upon after use).
i hated using adapters on my car personally and would never recommend it to anyone. as for the staggered sizes, it's your car. doesn't fit a thirdgens profile but that doesn't mean it can't be done.
have at it.

I best ring the wheel people for the backspacing.
Although in theory it looks like I need 2" adapters front and rear?

Some guys run 2.25" but I'm sure 2" at all 4 would be fine.

In that case I might give them a miss then.
It sounds like a hassle having to keep checking them (jacking car up and removing wheel).
Plus when I'm driving the car hard I'll be wondering if sometihng is gonna let go...
If I go for the American Racing TT2's in a 17" what width and backspacing (i'm assuming no spacers) do I need to fit 275 tyres on the car, front and back?

I have an 88 iroc with 17"x9.5" Z06 rims and 255 40 17 tires. I got a set of 2" spacers for all four wheels. My rear tires stick out a little more than stock. The fronts gave me a little trouble though. I put new tie rods on from Auto Zone and the ball on the bottom of the tie rod scraped the rim. I had a set of spacers from a 91/92 camaro and put those on. Other than that I had no other problems

When the adapters are brand new, I recommend re-torquing them after about 5 miles or so, once the lugnuts and adapters take a "set". After that, you can treat them just like regular hubs, and they should not loosen up (even under race conditions, swapping wheels back and forth, etc). Just torque them to spec, and use anti-seize.

Re: Z06 Wheels, backspacing and spacers
I don't know the offset of the ones I had but with the LS1 rear end (same as having 2" spacers on each wheel), they stuck out a little too much.

Re: Z06 Wheels, backspacing and spacers
I have 18x9.5 zo6 wheels with 56 mm back space and 2" spacers work great. You will have great clearance everywhere. I'd actually like to have them stick out a little farther for better track width.

The 18 fits great since it gives clearance around the tie rod and the bracket on the strut. I actually have a set of four 18x10.5 that will be going on the car soon and they should fit great with the same 2" spacer. I might even get some slip on spacers to stick them out a little more. Or maybe I'll get some 2.25's or from skulte. We'll see how they fit.
