17" vette rims on the camaro
alrighty its been a while since i posted but ill bring you back up to speed.
ive got a 85 camaro "z" that has a carb'ed 350 small block painted in a bright copper metalic. wrecked it once and now have it fixed and am wet sanding and buffing as we speak. i finally got a good job and am now in the process of modding the camaro. just did and oil change, rotors and ceramic pads, painted the buckets black, smoked the tails, repainted the apron and windshield wipers, and fixed and painted my lower air dam where some bastard hit the air dam and was making the paint flake off (in the last three days haha).
i just went to defiance ohio and picked up a set of 17" zo6 rims from a retired guy and his wife who race their matching zo6's ( drive two matching custom harley's). 500 bucks for rims and tires, two have hoosier street slicks on them and the rims have no wear on them at all and are the silver painted ones. they are the fronts from both sets of zo6 rims. They will look great along with the new lowering springs and shocks and struts .
my question is whats the clearance issue in the rear.... i know i need spacers and im ordering 2" all the way around but my question is will i need to beat the inner finder well with a hammer like some guys have to because the rims are 17x9.5 and the tires are 265/40zr17's. anyone know? i would post pics of the car and of the rims but i cant find my damn usb cable to the camera to upload them but if anyone has the answer it would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys

2" front & rear, will set the wheels out the same as stock 3rd gen wheels. Which have the rears setting in almost 1/2" farther than the front.
Do 2" front, 2.5" rear and not only will the stance look better, but you'll end up with no fender well interference. 2" might give you no interference issues either, I dunno. But the the 2.5" will look NICE! The rear tires will fill the wheel wells out much nicer.
Or just put in a 4th gen rear axle & you won't need spacers at all, + get bigger disc brakes + get a better posi differential.
