Re: help on wheels

Duplicolor make special wheel paint. you could also get them powder coated that would look better that the paint IMO.

I was thinking of getting them powder coated but they charge me $80 for each rim and i think i prefer polishing them than doing that i also been thinking of polishing them all but how would it look better on a silver car black or polished wheels

Re: help on wheels

No this was ten years ago when I was a teen,I just cleaned them to the max,Taped them off perfectly to the max, used some sort of liquid prep its like alcohol base to get all finger grease of and gives it a great dry surface for the paint to stick to not sure of the name of the product.painted the back side first, then the fronts. waited a few hours and applyed clear. Im not body guy I was just guessing about, but they turned out really good like new.

Re: help on wheels

ITs all a matter of prefference and budget,I belive a set of zr1/ss wheels retail around 699 per set,and look awsome on 3rdgen camaros.
I was shopping for a long time when I came across these for 350.00 with tires! my best advice is paint what you got and keep you eye out for what you want

Re: help on wheels

If you choose powdercoating, you can get only the parts youwant coated, then whatever you want polished. That is how I had mine done, after the custom widening.

Re: help on wheels

GM put a clear coat over their bare/polished 91-92 wheels.

Clear coat is how you keep the polished area looking polished.
