17 or 18's... pros and cons?

I know this dude thats selling his 17 inch chrome rocs for 600$. Very minor scratches. Tires are about 75% thread.

But, I kinda had my mind set on some 18 inch chromes. Do i just go with the 17's or wait til i have the cash and get sum 18's??? What do u guys think??

Any pics?...thats a good price for a nice set of 17's.

I too want 18's but need to save up enough to afford big brake upgrade and rims.

...thats the problem with bigger rims...tires are more expensive and sometimes hard to find in the right size. Also the car will look great with the bigger rims but the brakes will look like lil pencil erasers under the rims.

Less rubber, rougher ride... great if you're racing on a track, not so much if it's a street car.... my .02's

ive got 245/45/17 rims and tires on my 86 t/a and they suck! they dont hook up !i can broil the tires thru second gear and its a automatic lol. im going to get taller tires= better traction.

taller is not always better for traction, wider and a sticky tread compund will do wonders, cheap tires have a hard compound and just spin, a softer more expensive tire will hook very nice, and taller tire mean you need to change your rear end gearing

set at 32 psi .tire max psi is 35 i think the prob is that the tires are directional tires, for cornering not straight traction

Anything but Federals would be an improvement. They are slick as pigsnot on a door **** when they are new.

When I worked in the tire biz, I refused to sell them.

Save up some cash and get what you want; you'll be happier in the long run... Same goes for getting a decent set of tires, the difference is night and day...
