Rims 17x9 or bigger
I want to see pics of rims that are 17x9 or larger that don't need spacers and actually fit our cars. I bought some black Vette rims for the gta but the more I think about it the less I want to use spacers. I just wanna see what options I have in case I decide to sell the rims.

Re: Rims 17x9 or bigger
there aren't that many.
ROH Snypers
SLP Firehawks (ones I posted)
SLP ZR1 style, but they are 17x8
Fikse FM5 and FM10 ($600-900/wheel)
You can swap out the rear and just run spacers on the front. I've been running spacers on my car for 6 years or so with no issues. I've had an LS1 rear end on the car for the same amount of time.
here is a cool thread with lots of wheels. you'll need to find out if they are bolt on or need spacers though,

Re: Rims 17x9 or bigger
My main issue I have with the adapters/spacers is the weight of them plus the added weight of the bigger rims and my car is gonna move slower than the line at the dmv. It's just a 350 with a few bolt-ons. I wouldn't mind the stock rims if they were black and were wider than 8 inches. What about the Yearone 17x9 snowflake wheels, I wonder what those look like with black inserts instead of the gold?

yours should be a bit faster than mine.

Re: Rims 17x9 or bigger
There was a debate somewhere on these forums as to whether using spacers was 'safe' or not for certain applications... I think the general consensus was that as long as you check the 5 bolts that bolt the spacer on the car (which is hidden under the wheels and requires removal of the wheel) and everything is tight under there, then nothing is dangerous about it. Basically 5 more bolts to check every now and then. Skulte used to make them but i think they stopped for whatever reason

Anybody know if the ed miller brake conversion kit changes the bolt pattern on the wheels? Looking into aftermarket rims without having to pay #$%%^ for a set

I see the torque thrust 2's come in 17x9.5 but everybody has those plus they don't really "fit" the gta.

Re: Rims 17x9 or bigger
HA! just hoping it might. Thought I had a set all lined up and then started looking a little closer and I think the bolt pattern is going to be just about that much off which would mean a waste of time and money. Just to let you know what I was looking at, they were the Mesh X wheels from MB wheels. Saw the same pattern on another bird but they were custom made by Boze wheels out in CA and I called them the other day and they said $2100.00 for a set. MB wheels would run me 500.00

You can get new wheels from www.vintagewheelworks.com. They are expensive but a 17"x9.5" with 5.5" backspace fits with no spacers. They are much lighter than Ronals or ROHs. I have some good pictures of my car with the V48s but the file is too large to post. I can e mail to you if you want to give me your e mail address.
