Would these be to small to put on my 82 Z28? A guy has a full set like new and I can't afford new tires at the moment because I am a family man paying for crap going bad around the house and the Camaro is my toy..lol I was wonder if 205/65/15 would look too small, the tires are that or 205/60/15. I can't remember which size it was for sure. Thanks in advance.

they'll look a tiny big thinner than the stock tire, but they'll fit just stock rims just fine

I'm just worried they would look dinky on the car and the car would be almost dragging the bottom on the road being short.Originally Posted by 58mark

it wont sit low but those would look funny being soo skinny. the stock tires on mine are 245. theres a good bit of difference between a 245 and a 285 so i kno a 205 would look skinny
I guess the lowest I'll go is 215/65/15

when I replace my tires, I'm going with a 235/60/15
They are the prefect size to get a little more rubber on the road, without screwing up your tach

I did a lot more searching and it does look like what you suggested is what to go with, thanks for your input.

So putting on wider tires will screw up your tach? I thought that putting bigger (taller) tires on your car is what screwed that up. If it does then that explains why Im flying past everybody on the highway when my speedo says 75mph which is the speedlimit. How could I fix it without changng the tires out? I have 255s on right now.Originally Posted by 58mark

check out this page and look at overall tire diameter and you'll see what I mean

So is there a way to adjust the speedo without changing out the tires?Originally Posted by 58mark

I "think" there are different cogs you can use to compensate for different tires... sounds like a question for the transmission forum, or a shop

Other than possibly changing the rear-gear ratio, no. Once you change tire size (diameter), you're pretty much out of luck.Originally Posted by '87IROCZOWNER69

235/60/15 is what I run on my 84. It's a stock replacement size for our cars with 15" rims. I believe 215/65/15 is the standard stock size.Originally Posted by 1982Z28Camaro

Would you explain how different tires will screw up the tach?Originally Posted by 58mark

(that is a rhetorical question)
