Another wheel question- Pro stars
I just started looking for wheels to suit a street/strip application without modifying the wheel wells. I really like the look of the pro stars. What my question is: what is the idea width of wheel for the front and rear?
I was looking at these:
15X4 5X4.75 1.75" Backspacing
15X10 5X4.75 4.5" Backspacing
All opinions welcomed.

For the backs you probably want between 5.5" to 6" BS, 4.5 BS would make it stick out a lot. Either way should look pretty good always liked pro stars.

5.5" of BS on the rear with a 10" rim is common, but for most people it still puts the wheels too far out. 6 or 6.5 is best, but will require some inner fender well work depending on tire size.

Thanks for the info guys. I def do not want my tire/wheel sticking out past the fender. I really want them to tuck. I don't care to "message" the inner fender but I really want to avoid tubbing it.

If you go with 6" of BS you probably won't need to do any massaging, 6.5" will require it and probably have to remove your bump stops if your using 15" wheels.

Well I picked up a complete set of pro stars today. I ended up with 10" rears with a backspacing of 5.5
Sooo next question what's the widest tire I can tuck? I don't care to massage the inner fenders.

I thought I read somewhere that you need to use longer wheel studs and deeper shank lug nuts when you run the Pro-star wheels. Is this true? Also would you mind posting some photos of them. Even before mounting the tires would be nice . I'm a big fan of the Pro-stars and some day I will have them.

You need longer wheel studs because the rim is thicker. I had to do the same thing with my summit stars on the back rims but I also upgraded to a 1/2 stud.
