spacers right size?

Just ordered spacers from hawksthirdgen. great quality just a quick question. I talked to them and they said they were 2", well i received a set... x2 1.5" x2 2" does the smaller one go in the front or rear?

I bought this in the intent of putting my oe 17"x9.5" c6 replicas
I talked to them already and they said they'll fit before i bought the spacers... so I just want to confirm if anyone else knows?

Re: spacers right size?

hi, the thicker spacers go to the rear but, the thicknesses dont seem right. the average adapter/spacer with studs in them is usually 1" thick 1.5 and 2" seems like alot. just be sure the wheels dont hit the rear fender when hitting a bump.

Look at the link I posted above.....2" is the general use adapter for 4th gen/C4/C5/C6 wheels on a 3rd gen, front & rear.

Re: spacers right size?

Using different sized spacers will set the wheels sitting like the stock 3rd gen wheels. Narrower rear track width technically helps in tracking, although I've never the difference when I ran wheels that didn't give the car a narrower track width out back.

To retain the stock tracking, you'd want narrower in the back, which is what you'd get with what he sent you. They'll fit, just up to you if you wanna go that route.

sorry for stupid response, but to confirm what I've read, the rear will sit in more than the front?

If so i hope the tire size gives off the illusion of being bigger or sticking out more in the rear... I'm doing 245/40 front 275/40 rear

Not stupid at all.

The wheel will only sit in 16mm = 5/8" further.

It isn't so much of the wheel sitting inwards further, as it is the shallower outer wheel that gives the impression of a narrower front wheel, even though it isn't.

Where did you find those sizes in a 16" tire?

You didn't. I was having a brain fart & thinking of the OEM wheel offsets.

Just make sure that the backspacing doesn't exceed 5" & all 4 wheels will fit all 4 corners.

Backspacing is measured from the sitting point of the wheel to the back side of the wheel? if so i measured i think 7.5"

Wow...Vette wheel specs. You measured right. You'll need 2.5" spacers up front.

Image isn't real clear to see on the measuring lines. Gotta look close, but you are correct. Wheel mount surface to rim edge.

2.5"?!?! holy crap... i hope your not serious. why would hawks screw with me when I told them specifically that i bought the wheel from them and they told me to buy these spacers from them, i gave measurements and everything.. this feels like a pain to deal with now..

On this page...http://www.skulte.com/adapterfaq.html I read...
Corvette ZR1 style (High Offset) 17x9.5 56mm 7.4" 2.25"
I do see another 9.5" wheel with lower offset that uses a 2" spacer. Maybe they misunderstood which wheel you had?
Corvette ZR1 style (Low Offset) 17x9.5 38mm 6.7" 2"
I guess there are 2 different 9.5" Corvette wheels, with different offsets.

I read in this thread https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/whee...ont-wheel.html and somewhere I saw a pic that apparently shows that a 17"/5" bs is wheel VERY close to a tie rod end.

It sounds to me like your 7.5" bs wheel needs a 2.5" spacer to get to the 5" bs mark to clear the tie rod. If I'm wrong in my reading of all this & understanding it, somebody please clarify it for me.
