Just installed 255's on rear. Opinions? Couple questions.
I just bought four 255/50/16 tires for my formula riims to finally get them on and thought I'd post some pics so people can see a comparison to stock. I also had a couple questions. I originally was hoping to raise the rear more with these tires over the 15's I had on but it seems to be the same height, just wider becasue the 15" wheels had a 60 sidewall.
The old tires and ones still on the front are 225/60/15.
I used 5/16" spacers in the rear and I don't know if the lugs are on enough to be safe with this setup. I'll post a pic below and hopefully someone has an oppinion on that.
I may get rid of the spacers but I was wondering if you guys think I should go with the 255's up front too, leave the 15's up front, or buy a smaller 16" tire?
Side by side of the new tire that's mounted and old tire next to it.

This is the old tire in front of the new one for diameter comparison.

I was trying to show the gap in leftover thread that's not used due to the spacer. I'm not sure how good you can see it or tell if this is safe?

How wide are the rear formula wheels? 7in. or 8in.

formy wheels are 16x8
loose the spacers, or use longer studs, thats not safe. Do NOT drive like that
they should fit front and rear, but my rub a little more on the front that a 245/50/16

So the 255's should fit up front but will they look good or out of place? I have some 225/60/16's laying around too I could use.

Personally, I'm not liking the 50-series rear, 60-series front.
IMHO, run the 255/50s up front too, then lower the car. Looks like too big of a gap between the tires & fenders. Lowering it would close that up.
And I TOTALLY agree with losing the spacers or getting longer wheel studs. Not enough thread engagement with what you have right now.

I can't lower the front due to my exhaust. It's on the original v6 springs with the v8 swap and is actually pretty low in the front in person.
