Re: Wide Tires.
I think you actually lost performance with those tires. It's gonna take allot of power just to turn those things. And sorry, it looks kinda rediculous. But on the bright side, your getting noticed.

Look at the upside. He'll get a nice rain groove down the middle of them after the fender cuts the nice groove from repeatedly hitting.

Dude if you like it, that's what really matters. It's not my style, but its some seriously big meat out back. And if it performs how you want, what's not to like?

Re: Wide Tires.
Well i dont hit anything at all because i hav 1.5 inch coil spring spacers. I didnt lose much performance at all and prsonally love the look. Ppeople compliment it all the time. Its a 2.8 i know i need a v8. And im tryin. Just tryin to do what i can with this one. I get alot of looks and i did the tails myself. Just taped the reverse. In person it looks 10x better

Tail light do look good, something i have never noticed is the emblem that has the 2.8 muti tune port on rear bumper. Is that stock?
Don't look to bad, enjoy that V6, you will get your V8 someday.
Hey my first camaro was the 86 Iroc TPI was super sweet! Sold it many years ago.
I have a V6 also, cars pretty sweet and it runs great, But i want another Iroc. Someday. Wheels are really wide. Hows it turn? Is it smooth?

Do what you want, its your car but you better have some thick skin when someone says "hey dude, the 70s called, they want their tires back".
Seriously tho, sometimes doing nothing is better than doing ....
Most all of us have been there, low dough and want to play but just cant do it. Its best to focus on keeping it safe and reliable.
Study/work hard and things will roll 4 ya someday.

First thing I thought as well.
Those tires have made your car slower and handle worse.
But, Joe Dirt would be proud.

Re: Wide Tires.
The bad thing is you can fit that size tire under the car. It's a 295/50/15 in moderns terms.
Re: Wide Tires.
The bad thing is that I wanted them to stick out to exactly where they are. And in modern terms a 295 is about 11.5 inches wide and mine are 12.67 inches wide

Re: Wide Tires.
I used to love cars like this when I was a kid reading CarToons comics, and thinking that every car with super wide tires like that could pop a wheelie!
Honestly when you ask what people think of your personal project, you need to be prepared that people might have negative things to say due to a difference in taste... Some people have better tastes than others

Re: Wide Tires.
I can understand wanting to mod stuff and having little money, but I like the look of a nice wide tire that tucks in nicely so it looks stock unless looking from behind.
Re: Wide Tires.
Yea I did expect some negativ omments butnot all. And yea I think its just a phase. I really like getting noticed and in my town no1 has camaros they all hav new bmws and **** so I like havin that stance and drag car look. Idk maybe ill get thru the phase. But for now I love it

Re: Wide Tires.
Dude. What you need next is a split exit muffler with Super awesome tail pipes. They would complement the tires. Oh, and a 4" cowl hood.

a friend i work with has a 67 firebird with n50s on it that stick out like that....he even tells me that its very old school and that he would much rather swap it all out when the car is back on the road. he use to race it back in the 80s lol

Re: Wide Tires.
Side pipes and an old school square style pro stock snorkel scoop would be more appropriate. And some tuck and roll interior work.
