What tires to get... ?
Looking at doing a wheel package this spring and i cant decide on what tires i want to wrap around the wheels... as far as tires iv looked up a lot of info on each and there seems to be an equal amount of negative and positive commits and reviews on them making it really hard to decide... maybe someone on here has a tire and can give some feed back on it.
looking at:
Nitto NT555
Nitto INVO
Nitto Neo Gen
Falken FK-452
Falken Ziex ZE-502
Falken Ziex ZE-912

Re: What tires to get... ?
I am also getting tires (inspection time coinciding with tire time) and have been reading a lot of reviews. NOTE: the comments below are from reading and not actually owning these tires. Lotta bad on Falkens after they get mileage on them they lose traction on wet roads but they are cheap. The Nitto 555s are supposed to be good but wear out pretty quick. I have BFGs right now and I think overpriced for the poor performance.
Note that you need to look at whether you want to drive year round or just winter or summer etc. Don't get summer tires to drive in the winter, etc. Get an all season ultra high performance with something like UTQG400AA or better for a good all around tire that will last.
I have found a cooper tire that I am going to get at $120 each at Discount tire.
http://us.coopertire.com/Tires/Perfo...EON-RS3-A.aspx
More than i want to spend since the interior and paint are draining me, but oh well.
UTQG500 AA A rated at the Cooper site with a Z speed rating. I don't drive over 80 but want the better tire and I want the AA traction for wet roads - sick of wet road driving on BFGs and waiting to rear-end someone. If you don't see a tire at Discount click on the link near the bottom "View More Choices" to see tire that are at their warehouse.
If you can buy anything regardless of price, then disregard what I said and wait more more advice. If I had more money I'd get Michelin's at approx $190 a pop. The wife has Dunlops and I am impressed with the handling and traction. They don't make 245/50/16s.
I looked up your size and you have MANY more choices.
What kind of driving are you going to do? Summer only? Winter only? All season, daily driver in the rain? Regardless of your top speed IMHO I'd still get z rated or at least up there. It'll ride rougher but handle better. Do you care about price and/or how many miles it lasts?

Re: What tires to get... ?
Bought the Michelin Pilot Sport AS in 245 50 r16 last spring and have been very pleased. Prior tires were Goodyear Gatorbacks then a set of Pilots before these. Personally, I got better mileage and about the same performance with the Michelins. The car lives in Flodida, so I can't really speak for performance in cold driving conditions.

Re: What tires to get... ?
I've had 3 different sets of tires on the GTA.
Goodyear Gatorbacks (originals)
Goodyear GS-D3 (4 years)
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S
The Gatorbacks aren't available in my size (245/50/16) and even if they were, I wouldn't buy them again. Good in the summer. Terrible in the rain.
The GS-D3 were outstanding tires. Great traction. Great cornering. Amazing in the rain. Downside? They're discontinued in my size. And they don't last as long as I would have liked.
The Michelin are a softer tire. They take the bumps much better than the GS-D3. They're about as good a tire as you'll get in the rain these days. Traction seems to be pretty good. Probably not as good as the GS-D3 were. They do have the longest tread life of any tire available now in this size.
Were I to do it again, I'd either get another set of Pilot Sport A/S or else try out the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. The Firehawks tend to get good reviews in the dry. I doubt they're anywhere as good in the wet.
I live in Houston, so summer tires would work good for me year round. If I could get the Pilot Sports in a summer tire, I would. But the only choice for my size is the all season (A/S) version. Oh well.
The Goodyears were wider than the Michelins despite being the same size. My Michelins look narrower than I'm used to.
Of the ones you have listed above, I'd go for the Nitto NT555.

I have a 1991 Camaro stock alloy rims. I mostly do all my driving on the freeway and live in California so not too much rain. What size and what tire do you guys recommend. I believe I have a Falkon it was pretty cheap like 100$ each and they were shitty road real hard.

I've read nothing but good things about goodyear eagle f1 gs d3s, I have not owned a pair, but when I get around to putting my car back on the road its what I plan to put on it.
