Iroc lug nuts

I bought some 16" double line iroc wheels and would like to get lug nuts that are close to the orginal. Anyone have a pic of what they look like and the size of the lug nut?
thanks

Re: Iroc lug nuts

Summit Racing has these Nuts = Click me.

These are as close as you can find to the originals but that are STUPID expensive. Best bet is to find them at the junk yard and have them repowdercoated and then buy the special lug nut socket that is rubberized to prevent scratching.

Re: Iroc lug nuts

were the orginal nuts chrome or black? or did they have the black metal cover over the lug like the 15 inch 5 spoke z28 wheel?

Re: Iroc lug nuts

thats not a stock lug, stock lugs look like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/12x1-5-OEM-F...item3a6d151f94

they have black plastic screw on caps.

that said, i would not use the stock lugs and caps, too expensive and they fall off. just use the black ones listed earlier.

I have my lock nut socket & a "special" socket used only for the lug nuts that I keep wrapped in a couple layers of electrical tape. Generally only lasts a couple of off/on cycles of a wheel, but easier to re-wrap them that to have my wheels re-powdercoated.

I guess I stand corrected. I always figured those were the stock lugs. My 84 has these on them and I assumed there were from the factory due to their looks and wear.

Re: Iroc lug nuts

I have a NOS IROC lugnut in the GM bag and it has a black metal cap crimped on.
They are different than what firebirds use.

That is the correct lugnut for the 16" IROC wheels I had on my 87 until I changed over to 17" wheels..

^^^

Those are them. The black part falls of fairly easily, which is why you rarely see them anymore.

Re: Iroc lug nuts

They are still available, picked up some at NAPA a while back for my son's Camaro. IROCthe Road is right, the caps come off pretty easy - they don't like impact wrenches. Needless to say, we don't do that anymore

Re: Iroc lug nuts

i stand corrected then, the ones i listed are for firebirds then.

if those crimped metal ones are proper, i would forget them and get the all black ones listed earlier, since they look about the same and wont fall apart.

Re: Iroc lug nuts

I used a set of gorilla lugs personally, just don't use steel rim lugs on them, they are different from what I recall and would chew up the wheel and or not seat correctly or something.

Your "Recall" is what I call Hearsay BS Torque spec for lugnuts on Aluminim Wheels is 80/85 #/ft. However, the use of a high speed air gun may cause damage from over torquing

Re: Iroc lug nuts/ flexalite fans.

I just switched from a set of torque thrust to the original iroc wheels and Im looking for a set of centers, lugs and black caps to finish it off. Does anyone have a set for sale or know where the best place to find them would be? amazon for $185 canadian is the best price I can find. (I live in Nova Scotia). Also looking for a set of twin 12" 12v flexalite fans. Slim fit if you have it.

Re: Iroc lug nuts

Some years back i bought new ones, if I recall correctly the Monte Carlo guys used the same lugs and had em new oem on one of their parts sites.. but that was probably a decade ago. they were hard to find on the cheap even then..

Ha just realized this thread is from that 10 year ago period.. Center Caps should be all over Ebay I would guess
