Thick 5 spokes
Been looking around alot at wheels, I've always been more of a fan of 5 spokes.
http://i34.tinypic.com/2aihuvm.jpg
^this is grifters with XXR 962s, which i absolutely love in gunmetal. but the biggest i can get is 18x9.5 I really wanted to run 18x10 or 10.5 in the rear with some serious meats. Does anyone have any recommendations for good lookin 5 spokes that are 18x10.5 in the rear? I prefer gunmetal/competition grey type color over black or chrome or polished too.
also, OE wheels makes these C5 replicas with a dish:

i like them too and have seen them on thirdgens, but im afraid they look a bit thin. I still may get them if i have to for the 18x10.5 in the rear.
gunmetal fikse fm5 are sweet too!
post any/all suggestions!

Re: Thick 5 spokes
I have a feeling hte best route to take is some ROH ZR6 wheels, and have them widened.
There's just really not much out there. Everything is aimed at guys who just want bling wheels and are stock width, or a bunch of ridiculous chrome, or they're drag racing wheels. If you want wide beefy wheels in 17+ diameters in 9+ widths, and you want something in a 3rd gen offset, it gets tough. If you can handle a 4th gen offset the options open up a LOT. Those deepdish wheels are still 4th gen offsets though. So you'll have a wheel that needs spacers. The face of the wheel is in the same spot as it is on teh regular width wheel, it's just the wheel is just wider. Not really the same thing to me as a proper zero offset wheel.
Have you looked at the Weld RTS wheels?
This is the ROH ZR6, and I figure if I had unlimited money I'd buy a set and have them widened. One of the best looking aftermarket wheels made for our cars. I'd also love to have a set of widened SLP ZR1 wheels. They look great, but at only 8 inches wide, what's the point? The ROH's are only 8.5 inches wide... so again, what's the point? Gotta get em widened I guess.
Anyway, here are the ZR6 wheels:

Those XXR would look so slick in 18x10.5 but they stop at 18x8.5 There really is no point, i dont want tires to bulge out instead of getting a good patch on the pavement. It's pricey as all hell to widen wheels, and some can't be widened anyway... I guess ill have to settle for my third or fourth favorite wheel just because i need the thickness, and ill have to live with spacers. OE wheels are cheap tho rofl...

Re: Thick 5 spokes
The thing about the Weld RTS wheels is that they're available in our bolt pattern and offset in nearly any diameter/width you like. They're legitimate racing wheels - lightweight and strong, and function just as well in road course type stuff as they do quarter mile racing. They're not cheap, but for what they are, they're not bad. And I think they look a little better than CCW's.

Re: Thick 5 spokes
Well the point I was making is that they're actually very strong wheels. They're very streetable and I would have no problem running them on bad roads.

oewheels C5 Z06 wheel:

This was in a high hp road race car, but just be careful. He messed up his car pretty bad.

It was a rear wheel that broke apart during that last corner.
However, you're likely not putting out quite that much power (Around 600 I think) or holding that many G's in cornering. But just be aware those wheels have their limits. I may very well end up with a set too, but I at least know now not to go road racing with them, and I'd rather try to find some actual GM wheels first.
I once sent an email to oewheels asking what the load ratings were on their wheels,(before I even knew about the above) and the listed, specificially, that C5 z06 wheel. And they simply said "it meets original manufacturer specifications". Take from that what you will.

They came in 17x9.5, although rare from what I understand. Here's a set w/ 275/40's on front & 315/35 rear (my actual car when prior owner had it in Germany, I'm picking up these wheels from him tomorrow).

Re: Thick 5 spokes
those wheels look just like my 93-94 firehawk rims which they dont make anymore i belive. i was missing one center cap and cant find anywhere to buy a new one so i made one from a 91 92 wheel cap. but if they still make them i might be able to get the right one . anyone know if they make them?heres a pic to show them on the car.
