Help with C6 Z06 Rim fitment (yes, I've searched)

I have c6 z06 repro rims

Rears fit perfect with spacers

Fronts a whole other nightmare.

Fronts are 17x9.5 with +54 offset

Wheel doesn't even go on all the way and hits shock even with 2.25" adapter on it? Can anyone help me with this?

And yes I've searched high and low for about a week now on multiple forums to find something to help me and I've come up with nothing

Thanks for the help

Shawn

You positive they are 54mm? Use a ruler & double check them, regardless.

A wide 17" causes all kinds of problems. First check to see if the rim is hitting the steering tie rod.

With your spacer that is about a 5" BS wheel. Stock is 4.5" BS. You should not have any issues with strut clearance. I agree, measure that wheel and get the actual back space.

Just measured and remeasured 3 times, 7.25" of backspacing

And I'll check again what exactly the tire was hitting but I'm pretty sure it was strut.

These are 17's? If so that is really not that surprising at all. With your spacers, that is a 5.625" BS wheel. That is 1.125" more than stock. And in most cases I believe the 17's are not big enough to clear the tie rods.

Here is a picture from a user here of 17" wheels with 4.75" BS. Not much extra clearance there.

CTW Motorsports wheels are 5" backspace and do not hit either the struts (Bilsteins) or the tie rod end. I do have Baer brakes on the front, which bring the front wheels out a tad, but it would still clear even with stock brakes.

If the strut hits, you only need to grind it down to clear, tie rod end can be ground down in most cases too...

54mm = 2.126", which with a 2.25" spacer should clear decent, maybe needing a little massage.

No more trial and error. Why don't you stack up 1/4" of washers or wood or whatever behind to wheels to make sure it will fit.

Re: Help with C6 Z06 Rim fitment (yes, I've searched)

The only reason why I don't do that is because it only hits when I drive not when its in park. When its in park there's space inbetween the tie rods and wheels but when driving they hit

Yeah driving with washer spacers would not be a good thing to try.
