Re: Tire and rim ?

That depends on how much modifying you want to do to your car. You can put 18s on it no problem.

You're welcome. I don't think 18" tires come in the 30 series height but they come in 35 series height and 19" tires come in 30 series height if you can swing that kind of dough for tires.

Re: Tire and rim ?

You can get 17" to 20" wheels and tires that will offer the same overall tire diameter as stock 16" ones do. As small as a 245-45-17 to a 275-25-20 will work on the right wheel. There is a point of diminishing returns above an 18" wheel and tire - you get a much rougher ride, heavier weight, and the ability to bend wheels at will due to the small sidewalls.

I am looking towards 17"
I want something to fill the wheel well and lower the car a bit.

You won't fill up the wheel well in actuality by going to a larger wheel and lower profile tire - you just make the wheel look larger (and the tire smaller) - it's really an optical illusion.

But lowering the car does get rid of the tire to fender gap, which does fill up the well...

Yes...perfect answer.

I put 17's on and the overall tire size is within a quarter inch of the 15's that were on there.

The left tire is a 15 inch Goodyear Eagle and the right side is a 17 inch Nitto 555.

.

So, going to an 18" rim with a 45 series sidewall height may make the tire taller than the one you have now.
