changing the bolt pattern.
changing the bolt pattern.
I just bought a set of aluminum slots. the rears are 15 in and 10 inch wide. I am not even sure if they will fit in the wheel well. The front wheels are multi bolt parts. it looks like someone just oblong-ed the holes to fit. My question is is this safe for the rears? and where do i get it done? THe rears only barly dont line up.

If they are botched up, I would scrap them, probably cheaper to get new wheels than have thbe fixed and refinished.
But if you want to go that route, look around for a local wheel repair shop, they are out there, and they can tell you if they can be fixed

They did produce these wheels back in the day with slotted bolt holes from the factory. They were built to fit 5-4 1/2" Ford or 5- 4 3/4" GM what I understand as called unilug.

Re: changing the bolt pattern.
I have an old set of unilugs, the holes are slots for anything from 5x4.5" to 5x5". They require shank-style nuts and oval washers. These washers come in 2 styles. Offset holes for 5x4.5", centered holes for 5x4.75" and turn the offsets out for 5x5". These washers and nuts are still available new, but the wheels must have the recesses for the washers. Really not worth messing with mutilated wheels that don't fit when new wheels are still affordable. I just found new aluminum 15x10s with 5.5" backspace for $135 each, in 2 different styles, with matching 15x8" fronts on 4.5" backspace for $120 each. Steel is far cheaper, but you'll need to have some place like Stockton Wheel change the rear backspacing, unless you order directly from Wheel Vintiques or Cragar, any manufacturer that lets you custom-spec for a small additional cost.

If they rub the holes, something is wrong.
