torquing front wheel spacers

Was just thinking about this, an appropriate torque setting on a lug nut keeps them from coming loose- too little they can back off, too much they can distort and/or pull through.

So how do you torque the lug nuts on the front wheel spacers, since the hubs will turn without a tire on the ground to keep it from turning? I wish this car had a line lock so I can lock the front brakes...

I use an impact gun (pneumatic). If you don't have access to a compressed air source, then buy an electric impact. Test the setting that gets the torque you want by using it on a standard lug nut with the wheel held, then check with a good torque wrench to verify the gun setting.

Use a brake pedal depressor. Don't have one? Jamb a pry bar or other tool between the front seat and brake pedal.

I found a brake pedal depressor- one of the 3rd gen guys that lives in my neighborhood snuck out of the house to hold the brake for me...
