Installing 18" wheels, what size tires?
Installing 18" wheels, what size tires?
I just purchased 18x8 wheels tonight. I'm putting them on my 1987 Iroc with in the next week or so. What size tires should I use with this rim package? Also, should the rear tire be different from the front.

Also, I read in a post that I have to lower the vehicle. Is this true and if so how far. If it has to be lowered what method do most use and where do you buy the parts to complete the lower.

You dotn have to lower the car to install different wheels. 245/40/18 is the most common fitment for that wheel size. Cant really go mch wider with that size

I have 255/35/18 on my 18x8 rims and 275/35/18 on 18x9s, imo this is perfect. lowering is not a necessity merely personal prefernece.

245-40-18 is the right size for your wheels. It gives you the same tire diameter as stock (doesn't throw off your speedo) while not being too wide for your 8" wheels.
