Tires with more grip!

I have the futura gls sport tires, 245/60/15 in the rear. They have no grip whatsoever!

Are there any good tires that I can get some good grip in? These slid all over the place

Mainly street, occasional track hardly ever drive it in the rain. It's to the point where I'm not comfortable taking any corners while on the gas. From a dead stop I get no traction anywhere past 1/4 throttle, 1st or second gear roll wot it just burns the tires.

Don't get me wrong it's fun to be able to break the tires loose so easily but sometimes I feel like I'm losing so much acceleration because the tires suck.

Re: Tires with more grip!

245-60-15 is not a size that is popular, nor is there any real choices for street tires - not much in 235-60-15 either.

Are you willing to move up to a 16" or 17" wheel and tire combo?

Definitely!!! I do not want to keep these 15 inch rims on there, they came with the car, I'll keep them as a spare set.

I love the irocz 16 inch rims, torq thrust, corvette wheels are nice, either 16 or 17 inch rims are fine

Good.

In that case, look at 17" due to the availability of tires in 245-45-17 and 275-40-17 sizes (245-50-16 is pretty much dead).

And if you buy new wheels (not 2nd hand), go for a 9.5" wheel that will allow you to run a 275-40 in all 4 corners - huge improvement in all around grip.

Re: Tires with more grip!

^ that's what's on mine now. 17x9.5 with 275/40/17 bfg g force sport comp II.
Haven't got to try them yet but looking forward to it.
I've ran the old version sport comp and liked them.

That sounds like a pretty decent size, i was planning on doing the irocz 16" with 245/60/16, but going up to 275 sounds pretty good! Is that what you run?

I am running the 275-40-17 tires on the CTW MS 9.5" wide wheels.

In 245-50-16, the only choice of tires for high performance use is the BFG G-Force Sports.

Huge difference in handling moving up from 16" to a wider 17" tire.
