Help choosing Rims and size

well I really love the look of these rims and i want to know what setup i should run. The rims are 18x8.5 will they fit without rubbing or do I have to install spacers? Also I want to lower the car and kinda have that staggered look any suggestion? The car is stock also and im running 245/50/16. Here is the link http://www.oewheelsllc.com/Wheels_3/...4#.UrKlSfQ3B2o

You absolutely need spacers to run either set of wheels - the offset is not compatible as they are.

I know the staggered look is one that many people like - but it really doesn't hold any advantage in terms of handling or braking performance (front wheels are going to limit your car).

Why not go 18" x 10.5" all around with a 295-35-18 tire? Killer

A staggered setup can help balance a car that otherwise oversteers too much. I know it helped mine.

Main drawback I see to the staggered setup is not being able to rotate tires front to back.

That is true. However, that is a band aid for a suspension that is not set up correctly. In the case of say, a BMW with 50:50 weight distribution, they do put staggered setups on their cars (225/255 or 245/275 typically). But all 3rd gens are nose heavy, ranging from 52:48 to 56:44, depending on the motor (LS motors are another story), so you really want as large of a tire on the front as possible to keep the front end from plowing due to lack of grip. Also keep in mind that the majority of the barking force is done by the front wheels, so running a narrower tire is bad for that too. The exception that you can think about is maxing out the front tire size and then maxing out the rears at a 275-40-17 and 315-35-17, which is pretty much not a problem from what others have mentioned.

A thirdgen with 275-35-18 all around should handily beat an identical one with a 255-40-18/295-35-18 stagger in every type of contest there is - braking, handling, feel...

That is a drawback, definitely. Don't forget that GM had the stupid "front and rear" wheels in 16", which gave a similar problem (but also worse) as you couldn't even rotate side to side with the directional gatorbacks.

Do yourself a big favor and just go 18" all around - make it a 9.5" or 10" wheel and a 275-35-18 tire and you are ahead.
