Any recommendations for 15" tires?

I started looking for tires to fit my stock 15x7 wheels, and choices have narrowed drastically since last year. I'm looking for either a 225/60/15 or 235/60/15.

BFG used to have a KDW in that size. That's gone. Firestones are gone. I'd even take those GY Eagle GT repros in 215/65/15 if they weren't so darned expensive.

Any suggestions?

How good are those all season (arg!) BFG Radial T/As?

There's all of these (I've had a set of the first/cheapest ones on another car, they're a good tire):

I'm thinking about these Falkens in 225/60/15. Anyone have feedback? Reviews are so-so for these, but not much in this size.

No personal experience but the treadwear, temp, and speed rating all look good. They should last a while and perform decent.

By the tread they look to be a directional tire though, something to be aware of. (you just gotta make sure not to rotate them to the opposite side of the car)

Yeah, it's unidirectional. It's one of the few in that size which doesn't look like a snow tire. Many reviews complaining about it's short tread life, like 15,000-18,000 miles. I don't really care about that, since it would take me years to put that kind of mileage on them.

Gotcha, sounds like a good one to me.

and yeah, it is nice knowing that the tire will most likely dry-rot before anything else, haha. My car gets driven in a similar fashion.

Mixed reviews on their performance though. I could swear BFG offered their G-Force tires in that size last year. Too bad I didn't grab a set.

Re: Any recommendations for 15" tires?

Just for rolling my car around while doing my engine swap, I ordered a new pair of 225/60R15s from www.discounttiredirect.com, $140 for the pair, including shipping. These are Chinese, and I had to lie and say they were for an '86 Mustang 5.0 coupe, but these are just re-named Falken Ziex ZE-512s, which I've had before. Not good in snow, but otherwise no complaints. Mine are 25.34" actual diameter, I measured the circumference then divided by 3.1416. Tread width is nowhere near a 225/60 BFG Radial T/A, but neither is the price.
