Balance issues, alt ways that last

Balance issues, alt ways that last

lot of nasty rough roads, tire of losing wheel weights and paying to get it done.
[ I carry in my tires, so warranty isn't valid ]

contacted one of the balance bead companies and they said my 225/60/15 have to low of a profile.

post online about using a few oz of airsoft BBs

tossed a weight and nasty drive train vib at 50-55 up into stick.

There are adhesive weights they mount inside of the rim (double sided tape). Unlike the traditional weights that hold grime behind them and oxidize the aluminum on the lip. Centrifugal force will only push them tighter to the wheel instead of slinging them off.

IDK haven't used them myself. Wife's '14 charger has them on it. I'm sure they're pretty common. These are what I'm talking about.

probably an aluminum thing like you mentioned, I have steel rims. maybe ya gotta ask as they default to clamp on with steel. Though last time they mention they did it so I had no weights on the outside, yet I can care less where they are, long as its balanced good.

never looked at a car and said oh geese, look at the ugly wheel weights........

tossed the weight July3 heading for fireworks, been ***** footin around stickin to the country roads where I can go 45-50 n just putt where im going......

LOL I have, but never seen them until after my last balance. Had the weights put on the inside lip. After hours of sanding out the pits in my IROCs, rest assured I will have them next time.

Re: Balance issues, alt ways that last

I gave in and just had Tireman balance the two in the rear, even thought only 1 way acting up.

was cheap too, only $15

Funny part was all the weights, ended up in different spots and sizes on both tires.

I could tell as I had put a coat of clear over the whole tire and rim. [ cheap tire shine that last months n months, hit the rubber with clear UV paint ]
