American Racing Thrust at the junk yard! Worth the resto??

Found a set of American Racing thrust at the scrap yard off an 86 camaro. they are a little banged up and need to replace the missing center caps. Do you think it is worth restoring them at a repair and resto shop to put on my 85 bird? Anybody have them and can share a pic would be awesome.

Restore them? They look mint!

J/K. A picture would be helpful.

If the wheels are still on the car with tires it would make this easier because you could just look at them to see if you like the back spacing/etc.

If the wheels are just setting there you would need to know they're width, diameter, backspacing and if they are staggered.

I don't know what they want for the wheels but if its a good chunk of change I would definitely find an answer to those questions before I bought them.

I don't think you really want to buy and restore wheels if they stick out of the fenders wells .

You won't know that without the BS and how wide they are.

I must be getting tired. I was looking for a link or something to see what you were seeing before I read that.

TinnMann2 ,

In my first reply I was not trying to discourage you from buying the wheels.

I just wanted to explain that there are a few things that could be important when choosing a wheel.

The heads up was great, ron u.s.m.c , and i agree, not my style to have tires with bad offsets sticking outside the fenders. I took some pics and the offsets look good, they are good width for me too. The only problem is that i am a dummy with computers and dont know how to upload the pics on here. says file is too big.

Its good to hear they will work for you.

As far as resizing, are you familiar with opening a photo with the "paint" option ?

Just open a free account on photobucket.com. Upload your picture there, you can't miss it, big button that says upload. After the picture uploads, go back to your library, click on the picture to view it, then after it loads, off to the right you will see this:

Name: Capture.png
Views: 112
Size: 7.4 KB

You want to copy the link in the "direct" line, then inside your post here, click the little yellow picture button, and paste in the link, press OK, and BAM!

But technically, you should still upload them so we can give opinions on the restore. Hope this helps ya get an idea of the fitments and stance.

Those are 14" wheels. Probably not worth it IMO.
