Re: zr1 rims
you would technically need an adapter at the point not spacer im sorry i get the terms mixed up all the him.
but yes you would need a hub centric adapter, that is important

hub centric rings are only needed when the center bore is LARGER than the hub. this is a adapter to fill the void and eliminate possible vibrations.

Re: zr1 rims
Not sure how I feel about an adapter that big.... But once tightened down it should be no different than a wheel with a center hub that is that thick. it's not a spacer, it's an adapter.
Regarding adapters.... you want an adapter that is hubcentric on the car.... That will be tough on the fronts since the brake rotor hub may not be the same diameter as the hub on the rear. Mine are clearly not, and the base of the hub is radiused so I couldnt run a hub centric adapter on the front if I wanted to.
But notice my adapter is also hub centric to thew heel. There is no need for a hub centering ring here.

Re: zr1 rims
Just depends on the offset. There are tons of different offsets out there. My 17x11's on a fourth gen rear would stick out 3/4 of an inch outside the fenders.
