Driving Cross country and the front skinnys won't cut it
Im driving my car cross country. This seems like the most (barely) economical and least stressful way for me to get my car. My plan is to hitch a ride home (about 1800 miles), and then drive my camaro back. The car is pretty low and the small tires up front aren't helping.
What I'm looking to do is gain some ground clearance by going with a taller tire, and also find out what (cheap) wheels I can use that will fit over LS1 brakes. Id like to have a tire with a tread width close to stock so I don't have to worry about the tire rubbing.
I hoping to find a set of used draglites that will fit that description.
My 88 camaro has:
LS1 front brakes with 15x 4.25 with *i think* 165/50r15 or they're 165/6015's I can't remember which.
Either way I don't feel great about driving that long of a distance on skinnys.
Any help is appreciated.
