Is it possible to put the front wheels on the rear of a gta ? The factory wheels look weird with the wider lip in front.

Yes, you can put the front wheels on the rear
*BUT*
you cannot put the rears on the front, as the different offset causes the wheel to hit the tie rod end.......

This is correct. The best is to use 4 "fronts" , that will help handling and tire rotation.

Its possible, I am running 4 fronts on my TTA with Firestone Indy Wide Ovals. 245 50 16's . Tires can be rotated. No issues with about 500 miles.

Most road racers that use factory 16" wheels use fronts on a 4 corners.
Allows you to rotate the wheels and also improves handling due to the increase in rear wheel track width.
Most aftermarket 3rd gen wheels in 9" or wider will have the same offset in both front and rear applications (assuming both are the same width).
