Wheel Spacer Question

I've searched information on wheel spacers and I believe I thought I knew what I needed then read more and confused myself. Just looking for clarification.

Currently have an 89 Iroc with drum brake rear and 15" rims. I have obtained a rear from an 02 WS6 that I will swap in. As I also obtained the front end as well, I will be doing the modification for LS1 brakes in the front.

I have a set of 16" rims from 1992 heritage Camaro, I was told the rear has an offset on them, they arent in my possession yet so I cant measure what the offset is. But I am looking at using those rims in place of my 15" IRocs.

Question is; would the rims fit the rear with no wheel spacers and then I'd need a 1.75" spacer for the fronts (as the mod for LS1 brakes adds 0.5")?

Re: Wheel Spacer Question

why need spacer on stock thirdgen wheels and with 4th gen rear
4th gen rear is wider then 3rd gen rear hence if you run
corvette wheels or 4th gen wheels you need 2" adapter is the the most common
adding 1.75" adapter on a already wider rear end will get you the jor dirt wheel
sticking out hillbilly style ride unless your into that
front track width is push out about .5" due to 1le hub and rotor all adds up to that difference
on the offset of the wheels a simple search can help with that

Yes, I agree with the rear not needing them. Was just wondering about the front and if the offset on the heritage rear rims pushes it out further then, say, my 89 iroc rims.

Re: Wheel Spacer Question

4th gen rear with thirdgen wheels, will push the wheels out. To get around it, you use 4th gen wheels and spacers up front. Or you live with the hillbilly reverse offset look, with or without trying to convince yourself you like the aggressive stance.

do you need them no would stance look weird then yes I feel it pushed out the wheels to much and getting 4th gen and or corvette wheels or wheels with similar will prob look better with the changes and since you need a spacer upfront anyways

I agree way to aggressive for a small wheel which is why I can never convince my self to even get a 4th gen rear and or
