1990 GTA 16" rims. Best tire size for daily driving
Hi, I've been fixing up this 90 gta. The side door says 245/50/16 forr front and back.
What would be the best size for casual driving. I'm not looking to take it to the track or anything like that.
I want to get the tires that would be the most comfortable for city driving.
Current there are 255 50 16 all around.
I dont mind if the front and back have different sizes tires if that would help with more stable comfortable driving
Any recommendations would be great.
And another question this car was sitting for years 10ish years. I got the engine running pretty good but is there so sort of addative I can put I. It to help refresh the gaskets?
Thanks and happy holidays.

No additive on the gaskets, if they're leaking replace them. if they're not your fine. Unfortunately your options for that tire size are limited these days, BFG still makes tires for that size.

Ok cool, yea nothing is leaking just wasn't sure.
should I put the 255 50 16 all around?
Would signing different in the front help with steering?

Best for DD'ing is the stock aspect ratio which will give you the best protection from potholes, etc.
You can still go wider and maintain the correct ratio.
Appearance is in the eye of the beholder.
To me low profile tires look like bicycle tires from the side.
The wheels associated with them look like wagon wheels in most cases.
Tires are a effectively part of the suspension.
Stock sidewalls absorb much of the road imperfections.
Stock size wheels are much lighter than oversized wheels, and a lighter car has many benefits.
The first time you drive over a bad pothole, that you probably won't see due to it being filled with rainwater, you'll be happy you maintained normal profile tires.
