18X8 IROC Z Wheels
18X8 IROC Z Wheels
Since CTW went under I am looking a set of wheels that are 17-18 inch. Hawks has 18x8 IROC Z wheels for a third gen, will they fit without spacers? I am adding disc brakes so it will have about 3/8 spacers due to the rotors already.

Without checking for sure....I'm pretty sure all the Hawks IROC wheels, both their new 17"x9.5" wheels and the older replicas at 16",17" and 18" x 8" ALL have 0mm offset, which when paired with the proper tire to achieve an approximate 25.6" wheel/tire diameter, should fit with no modifications or spacers. That being said, there's always that one exception, but overall, MANY of us have run a 0mm offset wheel like you're talking about without spacers.

I could be wrong, but in the HAWK thread about the 17's they were making, I thought the offsets were different? May have been zero, but would mean you'd need to run a spacer in the rear?
Here's the reply I received, seems all wheels have the same offset?
I'll see if I can find it.

Are the 17 inch '89 Iroc wheels the factory back spacing, or?

They are the factory offset of the 'front' wheels.
Backspacing is 5.5"

You can run a 'front' offset wheel on the rear with out issue. I prefer to run 4 'front' offset wheels on my car so you can rotate the tires. Plus I like all 4 lips to be the same depth.
You cannot run a 'rear' offset wheel on the front. It will rub the tierod end and/or strut.

Yes, they are all "0" offset, as the email stated, and Jaysz28 confirmed. ....it's a common mod for people to run all 4 corners with "front" wheels, which from the factory are "0" offset. ....when it came time for the aftermarket wheels to be produced, I'm SURE it was done to save on production costs, only having to make 1 wheel, instead of a front and a back.
The factory rear wheels are 16mm offset, which is about 3/4". Positive offset moves the wheel inwards, so if you run a "0" offset, it's already going to be 16mm OUT/wider. A spacer would just make it even FARTHER out!!! -definitely not what you'd wanna do. Frankly, the 0 offset on all four corners is perfect for these cars. Looks a little better, cheaper to produce, and you can rotate your tires!
