Anyone space IROC wheels outwards to fill wheelwell?

I'm wondering if my double stripe 88 IROC wheels would look better if they were moved/pushed closer to the outer edge of the rear wheel-wells.

Has anyone used wheel spacers with these 16 inch wheels with any success? I really like these factory wheels but wouldn't mind a bit more of an aggresive stance.

Re: Anyone space IROC wheels outwards to fill wheelwell?

when i had my stock wheels on my 86 iroc i had used 2 of the factory wheel spacers on each side from the drum brake rear irocs and it moved them out i think 1/4 inch. not real drastic but in not a big fan of wheel spacers. i just got aftermarket wheels. i wish someone would make an aftermarket iroc replica in a 9"or 10"wide

You could always just get another pair of front offset wheels for the rear. They'll fit great & look good.

I used to run 4 front offset GTA crosslace wheels (until I got my Snypers) & LOVED the way the rear wheels set out farther.

Re: Anyone space IROC wheels outwards to fill wheelwell?

Wow! Does the rear tire still fit in under the fender lip? I installed the 1/4 inchers up front this past week and found a mag wheel lug nut that has a nice and narrow shank so it slides right in on the old studs.

My IROC does have factory rear discs and I'd be elated if I didn't have to use spacers. They make me nervous about doing high speed runs across the desert should they get a little loose and move the balance point. I suppose I should take these new front shims and have them tacked to the front mags for safety and final wheel balancing.

Might any of you have a pic that shows how tight the spacing ends up being? That would also be killer if I could then start rotating my directional tyres!!!! I really appreciate you guys chipping in your comments on this. big thanks, Nitro

ran ls1 4th gen rear on mine. spaced the wheels out nicely...but just a touch past the fender lip

i think with a 1-1.25 inch bolt on spacer, it will be perfect as the 4th gen rear is almost 2 inch per side

That looks MUCH better! My front tyres now look the right size for the opening and the rears lack any aggresiveness character.
