Hello all. I just recently picked up an '84 Z28. It needs some TLC. Getting a few things done already but it needs new tires.. it has a wide body kit installed but the current wheels don't make use of the space.. I've been reading a bit.. trying to determine what would be a good setup.. 15x10, 5.5 backspace in rear? 4.5 in front? Maybe that's not right.. probably will repaint car black.. would appreciate some insight, many thanks!!

 

15x10 / 6.5 BS in the rear

The front would depend on what wheel you're going with, I run 17x4.5 in the front and have a 1.75 BS

 

Ah I see. Well I'm not sure if there are better options out there but since the car is a blue metallic now (getting old) I'd like a wheel that could go with a black paint job if I do that.. I kind of like a gold wheel feel like the five spokes and the trans am style look good I also found some aero 51 -8 spoke that looks okay but it's a bit... Rally-ish

 

Somewhere I saw a picture of a black third gen with the American Racing AR23 wheels that were also black. Probably best looking aftermarket wheel for these cars I think. Here is a link with a bunch of pics, including a black camaro with chrome AR23.

Oh nice, thank you for the link! One of the wheels I picked out was in fact the AR 23.. definitely do not want to rush the process

 

Oh that's right.. I forgot.. I can't get the AR23.. it does NOT come in the size I want or backspace with the correct bolt pattern, unfortunately... I've shopped around & looked at their site
