Recommended lug nuts for CTW wheels

I just purchased a set of wheels from CTW this week. For those that own them, what lugs are you running?

Sean (who was absolutely wonderful to work with) said they use OEM 4th gen lugs on their race car.

I just wanted to see what other CTW customers might be using before I buy. Thanks in advance.

OEM lugs are more than adequate.

Re: Recommended lug nuts for CTW wheels

Is there any particular year of 4th gen style I should be looking at?

Re: Recommended lug nuts for CTW wheels

The Gorilla open end style with knurl grips is really nice. 3rd and 4th gen both use M12-1.5 with conical seats. I'm not sure what was the stock hex head size, but my aftermarket lug nuts are 19 mm hex. I would not go any larger hex size than that or the socket might rub the wheel.

I have a full set of Gorilla closed end I'm selling for cheap, but it's probably not nice enough for your brand spanking new wheels.

Re: Recommended lug nuts for CTW wheels

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll check on some of those. I guess I’ll go new since the wheels are 😁

Whatever you do avoid the anodized stuff. The finish get ruined immediately.

Re: Recommended lug nuts for CTW wheels

I bought a set of the SLP 3rd Gen specific 17" x 8" ZR1 wheels years ago and needed something that used a thin wall socket. I can't speak for the quality of them now, but the West Coast Wheel Accessories I bought back then have held up nicely over the years.

$27.99 for 20

These appear to be the same lug nuts under the Cal Customs brand, in fact this is the part number I bought - for $4 more they come with some decent regular length chromed pull through valve stems.

Incorrect, you cannot use factory lugs with CTW wheels, the lug pocket is too small. You will need a smaller diameter lug, I recommend spline drive lugs.

What diameter can it accommodate, Paul?
I know you don't own CTW any more but all that stuff is probably forever etched in your memory.

Re: Recommended lug nuts for CTW wheels

I like these lug nuts as they only require a 17mm socket

These are good for the street

and these are great at the track
