New wheels.

I’m going with the big and little set up on my 86 firebird. I have a set of 15x10’s for the rear with 5.5 back spacing. I see the popular size on here is a 275/60/15. However to me they have too much sidewall for my liking. I’ve searched on here but really haven’t found an answer. I have the factory rear end so what other size tires could I run? Would a 265/50/15 be too small for a 15x10. Pics would be appreciated. Thanks for any help.

Re: New wheels.

You need to ditch the 15s and go with 17s...

Re: New wheels.

I’m wanting to keep the old school look on this. I’m also working on a 86 Trans Am and 17’s are the plan for it.

Re: New wheels.

You stated that the sidewalls are too tall, so a 17" wheel with a lower profile tire would solve that. A 265/50-15 is only 25-1/2" in diameter. And the size wheels & tires you are running now on that car are not "old school"...

295/50's are slightly wider and also have a slightly shorter sidewall.
