Third Generation F-Body Message Boards
Haven't gotten around to the gauges, or fixing the leaking intake on the car yet. Been playing with my $750 beater. Removed a bunch of mangled old race car sheet metal to put on new race car sheet metal to go beat up. Before I hang it tho, it needs a trip to the truck wash and a squirt of paint on the cage and chassis. But it's fun not worrying too much on how nice this one is.

After spending a lot of time figuring out the proper overlays for the factory gauges, my speedometer stopped working. Well these are what I really wanted to begin with just wasn't able to afford them. Still not sure I can now. But it's what I wanted.

Got some new gauges. After fighting to figure out the correct overlays on the factory dash, my speedometer stopped working. And these are what I really wanted in the first place. Just couldn't afford them on the first go around. Not sure I can now either... But it's what I wanted.

Took it over to show the guys at Alpha Laser. They didnt believe me when i said its street legal... Not sure why? Haha.

Ok got rear caliper clearance now. But need to lengthen the pedal pushrod. Just not quite enough pedal feel.

Well i found the scraping sound. The rear end shop that assembled and welded the rear apparently didnt measure caliper height. I took for granted that they did. Guess i shouldve double checked.

So most hardware gets swapped for stainless where ever i can. And if a part comes off, if its going back on it gets rebuilt and or repainted.

My dad in the cool down area at the original Irwindale drag strip thats now Miller brewery. If you google it the area tge track was is still there. My dad had a box of trophies from this car. I kept the one from the day of this photo. Its on my shelf.

Last year we came across it at a local car show. Original as my dad custom ordered it in 1967, a Super Sport 427 4 speed white with red interior. Still has original plates that were issued to my dad. other than the wheels its original with only 56k on it. No he didnt want to sell it back. Cant blame him tho.
