Ups just informed me that it was too big for them to ship so I would have to drive it 75 miles to a different shipping company to ship.Sorry man but that's too much trouble for me to go through.I am going to stick with local pick up or delivery only, sorry.

Man, hoods are wide. heh

I need to measure my stock hood and the bed on our truck (C10 Chevy) to see how this would work out. I could always drive up without a hood on the Formula but cops may notice too easily. For all I know it's legal to go hoodless, albeit a ghetto way to go. I'll measure the truck and the hood tomorrow

this applies to connecticut, iunno about anywhere else.

as long as you have inner and outer fenders and a front end and no other legal issues it's fine to not have a hood, but i'm sure a cop would bust ur ***** if he saw it.

Yeah, I figure it's a matter of luck.

If I stay in the slow lane and cruise up there I should be okay. Thanks for the info, as every bit helps. It is probably up to the officer who sees me cruising up the 5 with a naked engine.

87tpi, I didn't get to measure the truck bed since my wife worked early today. If nothing else, can we fit the hood up at Tahoe? If not this weekend then soon. Catch you later today.

Sounds safe enough. As soon as I have a definite day I will be in touch. Soon, not a month or anything nuts like that. Thanks!

Weather looking any better?

I still plan to head up as soon as I can. I have a car to finish/smog by April 8 and immediately after that will be planning my conquest of the 50E. Still a definite

How long?

Hey.

I was under the impression that you had stored the hood and could wait a bit. No worries. My primary concern is the snow and my ability to drive across the 50 since chains are out of the question for the Formy.

If you have a timeframe during which you need it gone let me know and I will work it into my schedule. If you want to take it to PMs that's cool. Thanks!

I understand completely. Been there before, and of course for all you know I'm a raging flake. If you want a good-faith deposit let me know.

I just checked dot.ca.gov and the 50 is open Let me know if April 9 is in good time for you, since I will bring my wife and we'll make it a weekend. Any hotel advice would be appreciated as well.

The 9th is fine.I try to be a trusting guy but as I'm sure you know, sometimes people do flake.Hotels, ummmm, there are a lot.We have a motel 6,more expensive if you want.Do you want to see a picture of the hood as it sits now?

Gotcha.

No worries here. I started saving up for a hood a short while back, so the cash is on hand now. I will shop hotels tonight. I figure that if we can go <$100 for Saturday night's stay we're happy. First outing since our wedding

BTW I see you bought a 5.0, nice ride. The car I mentioned above is a 1989 LX hatch, redone stem to stern by its current owner. The Ebay seller of its current shortblock had nearly a grand of my cash hanging for over a month before learning to ship, so I feel the pain of the flakeout

Off to plan, thanks for the understanding and good comms.

Ken

PS Pics? Oh you betcha! We have been wondering how the hood looks cut out. Thanks again.

cough *hoodpics* cough....

Just kidding man. The 6 turns out to be a good place to stay. Management is hit and miss with those so I'm in luck.

When you check in here, could you hit my PM with details on where you are? I'll have cash, a hoodless 'Bird and a half-asleep wife in tow

Hope all's well. If I don't hear back tomorrow I'll email to save space here. Thanks!
