Who Will Have The Fastest>>>>>>>>
Normally aspirated 3rd gen in southern Cali that can come out and play at California Speedway or Carlsbad Raceway? One thing for sure is that I will be in the top 5 for bragging rights. Oh! by the way, my signature will be changing sometime soon!

You don't seem too confident there Vincent But I suppose it's for a good reason
Just to make things fair maybe we should have a weighted drag race and autoX competition

I'll try to give you a run for your money. I haven't pulled a 12 second run yet but I did run 115 with my old 3:08 gears.
When and where do you want to run?

I assume that all cars have to have all smog equipment functional and be able to pass a visual and sniffer test.

Well, if I ever get my car finished, it should be "streetable"
355 - Blueprinted shortblock
Complete lingenfelter super ram
Lt4 hot cam
AFR 195's - VERY ported
1.6 Scorpion rockers
Suspension - All TDS and spohn
It will be done someday, got all of the parts just need to get it together

wait Kevin, you've been running 13's and 14's for more than a year now. I think there is some ET expiration date....about a year. So you may have the ET but can't wear the crown. And if you believe you still do hold the crown may I suggest you run against your dad. That way at least you can keep the crown in the family
Your dad ran faster 20 yrs ago (meeting smog spec back then ) so based on your logic he's still #1.

Well, Kevin as long as you program me a chip to pass smog and another to pass everyone else I hope to have a running chance.

I think 12secondSS should be thrown into the mix as well. Sure it's not a thirdgen, but it should taste like chicken just the same

I don't care if it's a 305, 350, 383, or 400+. As long as it has all the smog stuff and can pass the sniffer. The EGR system has to be present but not necessarily functional, ala C4 alum heads witrh no external crossover pipe.

Wait a you mean now
That there is going to be rules? And the beginning it was only normally aspirated. Now smog check is going to be required. Vincent said the fastest thirdgen in Southern Cal

Hmm, you like chicken eh? I'll give you all the chicken you can eat. Yeah, I'd like to watch. I will be installing my headers back on very soon, but alas it won't be visually approved for CA ... but what the heck, it will still take out your slow jolopies from 20 years ago. :sillylol:

The guy that sets the record doesn't have to keep doing it over and over, he just needs to back it up on the same day (12.80@108.50 backed up with 12.83.@108.00). Now when that is broken by someone he will be #1.

The Old Record Will Get Smashed......
Somebody will break that old record within the next few months. I think at least 3 people will break the record and not the one who had set it.

BTW: Are we judging like pros would be, by ET and appropriate MPH (supported by 60')? Or the panzy a$$ way ... decent ET, but high MPH (with an ugly a$$ 60')? :nono:

I still have issues with my car but I need track time to tinker with it. I don't even plan to do any tricks to get a better time tomorrow. I will just wash it and throw the slicks in the back. No swaybar disconnect, no airbag, no octane booster, no removal of the spare tire and jack, no voodoo magic.....just my daily commute configuration.
C'mon Don, if you can drive to work then you can drive another quarter mile....at a time. Hell me and mike will throw the slicks on your car and drive it to the staging lanes for you.....or you can drive it in the normal daily commute configuration and see what she can do. I tried that at C-bad and went sideways in third gear, so I suggest not to do in on Kumho 712s.
BTW, my linelock is installed and functional

If you know how to drive you don't need a linelock. Just some skills in driving! Oh wow! when we all meet up at the same time, it will be lots of fun whooping asses. And I'll bet that I would have the number 1 car to beat.

Come on! Let me play. Jeff has a blower, so I can only compete with my power adder.
If the claim is to be the fastest, smog legal, normally aspirated 3rd gen then thats me!
I know a stroker isn't stock but a bored block is not stock as well.

You dont bore a block to gain the cubic inches, you bore a block to clean up the cylinders so it can be re-used. The gain in power is miniscule. However, you stroke a block so you can gain the cubic inches and get more power. Dwayne if you want to play you have to take a 200 lb weight penalty.
You guys can make up your own rules, but in my mind, since we live in the smog-**** state of California, the fastest 5.7L n/a thirdgen in this club is one who retains all smog equipment, is liscensed and insured, driven weekly, and passes all parts of the CA smog test. Air conditioner, heater, and full interior are optional, but I give more points to a car that has all three.
Just my opinion.

Those 383's got heads up also. I've smoke plenty of 383's and 406's with my 355. So cubes don't matter to me. Just leave the baby bottles and the belt buckles in the closet and be a real 3gen to stand up for the challenge. Now if you're going to race some fords, that's a different story because they cheat also.

I was just bluffing on having a stroker motor. Yeah that's the ticket, it's just a small block
I think I can take Jeff right now with only a 100 shot. It will be a good race for sure.
I'll leave the bottle in the pits for all the rest of you folks. I'm looking forward to trying my luck with all you so cal'ers. Does my big *** count as an extra #200?
Is there any thing going on before the shootout?

Oh MAN! Well since that 115 run I've swapped from 3:08's to 3:73's. I should drop some top end speed with those gears.
So when are these reindeer games that Rudolf can't join in.
BTW I've already spanked a few LS1's. They ain't no thang. Besides LS1's are for those that can't build a car and have to buy one pre made.
We owner/drivers are the true shiznit :lala: :lala:
