L98 makes first trip to track with new trans

Just got her back 2 weeks ago with new trans and converter so I finally ran her.

Mods

stock 89 350 TPI L98
Headers, flowmaster catback, K/N's
taylor wires
Eibach springs and adjustable tokicos shocks
panhard bar
street tires with little tread left on rears
2.77 rear for now
front shocks set softest, rears fairly stiff (Should that be right?)
Beefed up 700R4 tranny, shift kit, Edge 2800 stall converter

heres how it went.
first run, didnt launch as well as I could have. No spin.

r/t 1.124
60ft 2.042
1/8 9.070 at 76.25 mph
1/4 14.217 at 95.54 mph

second run. Launched hard no spin, but probably had more in it for sure. Manually shifted at 4500 rpm every gear.
r/t 0.797
60ft 1.945
1/8 8.907 at 76.96 mph
1/4 14.019 at 96 mph

Pretty siked about this. figured 14.4s but closing in on 13's for sure with stock TPI. With better tires, maybe softer suspension out back, with LCA and relocation brackets, and my 3.27 gear set yet to be put in, I should be into the 13's pretty well on street tires!

Nice 60' for street tires. Are you able to bring your converter up all the way at launch or is there more left in it?

Damn, I hate you, if i had those 60's then Id be in the 13s!!

LOL J/K, very nice runs, that torque converter is probably what is helping you the most... in my opinion.

I brought it up to about 2200 rpm and probably had more in it. I wanted to get the best launch without spin. The converter definately helps alot. With 3.27s and lower control arms/brackets, I hope to get in the 1.8's.

The track was pretty sticky. Still running stock lca's with lowered springs, so its out of alignment. My tires are pretty well worn, so with new tires who knows what it will have. I want to get some drag radials and wow will it be quick!

well, the track opens up april 16 and 17 for test and tune

but thats trout season and i was plannin on goin away to fish LOL

but if i can i will run it again as is, with the 2.77 gears and new street tires. no other changes other than gutted airbox. recently this car feels like its launching really good with new tires and i hope to hit some 1.8's and enter the 13's with slips reading 13.8s

then i will add the control arms and brackets and see how that goes. maybe gears at the same time, and i deffinately want them in. it needs it bad as i feel it could really open it up down low.

plus the with the weather in april, its gonna be colder and hopefully i might pick up some power.

forgot to add, my converter can be stalled to 2500-2600rpms now without breaking loose, and when i get off the brake, it rockets forward well. do they need some break in time? cuz it was put in in july but driven hard for the rest of the summer and garaged during winter. now it feels like it just moves well and stalls a bit higher like 3100rpms or so, not that i am complaining

No difference as far as ET & speed between sitting on the line for an hour and redlighting between the 1st yellow & green. You'll get your timeslip.

As long as you stage consistently, that is.

i thought red lighting was not good and threw off your times?

i knew that a .5 reaction would net same time as a 1.5 second reation time

Your ET starts when your front tires clear the "staged" beam. How long you wait to go doesn't affect the ET, even if you clear the beam before the green comes on.

However...

How shallow or deep you stage will affect your run-to-run ET.
