Do a search for a thread that was here about 3 months ago. TONS of talk, no real facts. Lots of hearsay and speculation.
...I think a lot of us are interested to see what comes of it.

I'm sure you all have seen this picture, but I think this is an idea of what to come.

Cost: $579.00 SSI Intake 86-95 Ford Mustang
I completely expect the TPI version to be very close to this. This comes w/ base/plenum(runners)/Fuel rails as originally stated by the lady I think. Cost is ~$600.00
I think they are probably taking this design modifiying it w/ the throttle body in the front.
It will probably look /alot/ like a T-Ram is my guess. I'm interested.

I called BBK and talked to a staff member, was very eager to answer any questions. There is still some work to be done, and no exact date for release set yet, but they did say it will be on the market before 2006 is here. Nice to know, but still a long way away. Maybe a project for next winter for those interested.

Im new to this news... what are we looking at in performance gains over stock in this new setup, or has that been determined yet ?

I'm guessing a cheaper alternative to the Super Ram. Probably pretty comperable the way everyone talks. Although, anything is speculation at this point.

well the website said it is to be priced at 399$, and i would think it would use stock rails and distributor since the ls1 one does.

I'm modifying the heck out of my TPI like I don't think has been done before. However if the HP ratings are good and it is made out of plastic to cut down on the heat transfer I might be in the market. Especially at a $399 price or there abouts. It would also have to be California legal.

i beleive someone went to SEMA in Nov. and talked with a marketing rep.. the rep said it was more like $699, was in 10 pieces with 8 individual runners, and would not be 50 state legal to start.. but would have several months to get it there, once the 1st products start rolling.
that was the last i heard anyway

If they don't make this thing fit under a stb they are screwing up big time. The only other alternative is the miniram.......... miniram = $1300

Here is the original thread: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=265530
My brother went to SEMA and I sent him along with a list of question to ask the BBK guys, which are answered in the above thread. The intake was in the very preliminary stages when the questions were answered so who knows how accurate the answers to the questions are. With time designs change. I made sure that my brother let the guy know that the main thing most people want is competitively priced intake that has very similar power band to the super ram or maybe pulls to a little higher then the super ram, like to 6000RPM without the loss of low end like the stealth ram.
It's not going to be plastic or composite. It will be good old' cast aluminum.

November 1, 2004 -- BBK engineering team is set to release our all-new GM Tuned-Port EFI intake manifold in early 2005. This clean sheet design manifold will fit the popular 305/350 TPI Camaro,Firebird and Corvette models and is to be priced at a very affordable $399.99 making it the best performance value around.
_____
Now, whether they actually do it or not is yet to be seen.
It's going to be hard to improve on the StealthRam's overall performance potential (the FIRST unit can take it in midrange torque output, the MiniRam can edge it out at ultra high RPMs). However,,, if the BBK design could come close to the overall power of the StealthRam while fitting under a Vette hood and allowing you to port to at least a 1206 gasket,, they might have something.

I would be happy with any non tuned length manifold that would fit under a strut tower brace for $399.99. But I'm guessing it will be QUITE a while, and may or may not fit under a stb.
