Nitto's or BF drag radials??
Nitto Pros:
long mileage
decent traction
great in the rain
Nitto Cons:
tread isn't optimized for drag racing
harder compound than BFG; results in poorer track times
have to do a longer burnout than BFG
BFG Pros:
awesome traction
much more sizes available for 15" tire
10mm bigger than the nitto in a 16" tire
softer compound needs smaller burnout at track
BFG Cons:
half the mileage of nitto if you are lucky
horrible in rain due to tread design
-----about all i can think of. I did not vote in this pole due to the pros/cons. What it really comes down to is what YOU are willing to COMPROMISE. So, if i were you, i'd ask myself do i drive my car in the rain a lot or not and how many miles do i put on my car?
after answering those questions the answer should be simple. If you drive in the rain a lot and put a lot of miles on the car, buy a nitto and hope for the best. If you do not drive your car in the rain and pretty much just drive it on the weekends i'd look into a BFG
hope that was what you were looking for

How do these tires compare in terms of handling, cornering, grip on the street or when autocrossing?
The only opinion I've heard is that the Nitto's are better through the bends as the sidewall of the BF Goodrich Drag radial is 'too soft' and really not the best for the road use.
Any opinions guys?

Hey thanks Dr G!! I am wonding on the drag radial tire! Which would be the best "Drag" & "Radial" tire. I am not going to be doing autocross, just running it at the strip once in a while, and the car is not a daily driver. I am looking for a soft tire to give me good launches, and not really concerned on tire wear. I will normally drive it on dry weekends and once in a while maybe be involved in some stoplight to stoplight propositions!! Thanks
Nittos worked great
I bought a used set, it work wells for the corners. at the drags I lower it to 22PSI a short dry spin and they hooked well.
Now I compare it to the SZ50 firehawks, cornering no comparison but the nittos really hook up allot better straight line. I plan to order a new set of Nittos, the only reason why I dont buy the BFG is I dont want to get caught in the rain.

have had no problems with my BFG DR in the rain. but then again the size i'm using is 235/60-15. now the 275/50-15 would be a less favorable in the rain. huge solid contact patch in the middle.

BFG'S
I have a set of the 255's on my camaro, and they really suck in the rain. I've only been caught once in the rain though. As for hookup... I have zero complaints. Good launches with a short burn out. I have noticed that cornering at higher speeds with these tires seems to make it feel a little looser in rear.
