Bored out stock throttle bodies? What do you guys thing?
I saw this on Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2419880007 Sounds like a really good option for $159.95 (with your old one)
No having to modify anything like you would with the Holley or 454 throttle body. What do you guys think?

Well, it doesn't seem like a bad deal, but I think you can find 454 tbi for cheaper. Holley 670 are around $300, but they come with everything including IAC, TPS, Injector pod, etc.
Also, I can personally garrentee that it will NOT feed a 400hp 383 to 6,000rpm like he is claiming....my set-up is proof of that.

I just got done working on my bored out TBI unit.
I had it bored out to 48mm so I could use the TPI throttle blades.
So far, for the whole project, it cost me under $70
350 injectors, having it bored out, and the cost of the TBI unit.
I still have to buy the expencive rebuild kit.

I saw that on ebay, too, and called the guy. he seems to know what he's talking about.
he said they use 51mm throttle blades that are custom made for this application.
you can send him your unit and he'll bore and refurbish it for 159.00.
that's not bad when you consider what a new holley 670 goes for and that used 454 throttle bodies go for that much or more on ebay.
i think the fact that this bolts up perfectly is pretty cool. from what i've read on here, there's a lot of grief putting a 670 holley or a 454 tbi on a third gen (throttle linkage, sensors, wacuum hoses, etc.)
i agree it's not going to flow enough air for a 400. it's so frustrating trying to figure out how much air these actually flow and compare that with a carb. it's like comparing apples to oranges. i'm tempted to hunt up a small holley 4bbl carb, a stock tbi, a tbi with the ultimate tbi mods, one of his bored out tbis, a 454 tbi and a holley 670 tbi and put them all on a flow bench. the only thing that stops me is sanity and my wallet. ha ha ha
