Well the pro competition requires a little more setting.
You'll need to align the accelerometers at least twice (cold & hot).
Once those are set you can forget about it for awhile.
The other is the RPM calibration, also simple to perform.
Both units rely on accurate weight inputs for HP, but the pro comp can save (4) car settings & display torque.

so is it hard to set up,and was it worth the money and does anybody know how accurate is it to a real Dyno machine.
i've got one. pretty simple set up. the HP calculator depends on the weight of your car. I've never weighed my car, so i'm not sure exactly what weight to input, so there's gonna be some variance. For the 1/4 mile, it's pretty accurate. is it worth the cash new? i'd recommend doing what i did and find one used. they're pretty plentiful for around $85-100. check the camaroz28.com for sale section, and mb post a wanted ad or something.

I bought one a few years ago and have used it on a few vehicles. I guess I would describe it as a "novelty" item. In back to back tests on the same stretch of back road in the same vehicle it just doesn't give you repeatable results. If you made a big modification to your vehicle it would show up as an improvement but it would be hard to prove less than say 20hp. In my opinion, buy it if you are just curious how fast your car is, otherwise find a dragstrip.
I think I'll sell mine too.

My best friend has the original and I was really impressed with it in his IROC.
I bought myself the Pro-Competition G-Tech and must say it is a really nice little gizmo. Set-up is as simple as Ronterry says.
If you don't have a drag-strip in easy travelling distanec then it is well worth the $.
As for the accuracy of it's estimations of rear wheel hp and torque - I've found it to be only 2% off my actual dyno numbers which is pretty accurate in my estimations.
Their website claims absolute Horsepower and Torque measurement are within 3% and consistency within .5%. http://www.gtechpro.com/gtechprocomp_accuracy.html
