I G-Teched it.....

I g-teched it....not to happy with the times or my traction....very dissapointed in my traction at takeoff and 2nd gear espically. I am ordering Lakewood LCA's tommorow from Jegs.

7.02 0-60 and 15.46 @ 93.6mph is what happened

I think thats a high mph for a 1/4 mile like that. Anyways, i will time the car again after i order and install the LCA's and my AFPR. I really need to fix my traction. I tried walking it but i just got a worse time from it. So I will retry and hope that the LCA's will do the trick with atleast the 2nd gear shift. I can feel the car almost slip sideways when it shifts into 2nd. Not to happy with that, thought the posi and KYB's and the 265 tires would take car of my 2nd gear whoas and maybe my takeoffs too. Oh well. Oh and I had 32 psi in the rear tires and 35 psi in the front tires. Is that right or not?

LoL, I can get close Pablos 14.88 with just some traction mods and I still have stock intake, cam and heads.

i hate to break it to ya, but the g-tech mph is usually aboiut 4 mph faster than 1/4 mile reality. when jprevost was home from college for the weekend we did both our cars, mine read off as 14.33@99mph, the et is close as expected but that mph is just plain nuts. so figure your real mph is prolly in the 89-90 range, that is a 15 flat, maybe a high 14.9 with traction.
i would suggest control arm relocators too, the arms by themselves don't make much of a difference.

alright thanks Tim.

Yeah I think another one of my weak points when runnin was my fuel pressure. I haven't installed or adjusted my fuel pressure yet and as the MPH got higher it felt like the car was starving. I think it might be because I still have it set at stock PSI and there is so much air coming in espically at higher speeds and it isn't giving the engine enough fuel since I have that 14x3 K&N and the Ram Air hood (actually cowl induction hood for now) but still pushing air onto the back of the open element with the cowl induction effect. But thats just a theory. I will put that in next week and time it again. And then do the LCA's and time it again after that too. Wish me luck.

has anybody read the gtech manual. the mph on the gtech is ACTUAL, not a trap speed.

you see, at the track, they nearly estimate your time, by calculating the time it takes you to move from 2 close points at the end of the track. with the gtech, it's been calculating your speed since your started moving. so thats the actual speed you were moving the moment you crossed over 1/4 mile.

ok i know i read this in the gtech manual and it may be bias, but thats what i read. so i guess in no way am i spreading fact. but isnt there somebody out there who can confirm this. eric, read your manual. what does it say, i cant find mine.

I don't know what type of tire you are running but I ran mine at 22psi and I wanted to go lower. 30 seems high but I don't know much about your tires and whole car.

There still shouldn't be that much of a difference.

When I had Tim and my other friend in the car w/ 3/4 tank I ran something like a 14.69 at 104mph on the g-tech. I should be a lot better than that but lets just say I have NO hook. My start is from idle and slowely giving the thing some gas, I don't get into WOT until I'm in 2nd just because of the 1 to 2nd shift. I didn't even get time to load up my converter, I just went spinning the "tire".... pos 3.08 peg leg
When I doing my run without them a truck drove onto the road so I had to let up just after it got into 3rd, I still turned a 15.3 @ 97.3 but I know something isn't right. I didn't check my plugs or my 02 sensor (gotta do that). I think I'm running lean, oh well.
Just take 4mph off the mph and that is what you'll get at the track. When using performance calculations don't use the g-tech mph because it's actual, unlike the tracks estimated.

Eric you definitely need more fuel pressure. After I installed my headers I forgot to turn up the pressure from when I smogged it and I couldn't figure out why my car slowed down. When I turned up the pressure I picked up .4 and 3mph. And that was last summer I have played with it some more and its running even better now. The lca's will make a huge difference, they made my car feel like a new animal.

thanks Zac, Thats what I figured was holding me back was the fuel pressure. It just seemed to starve. And I can't wait to get the LCA's on and see how big of a difference they make.

I have an awnser for the mph thing. Since my speedo is off and can't really tell, why doesn't someone just hit the cruise control at like 45mph and roll all the way thru like that and see what the G-tech reads. That would give u ur anwser.
